I gave a keynote speech at the Overseas Development Institute to outline Labour’s development policy and launch a task force to compile a fully comprehensive development plan to be published in March of 2018. Aid is not a sticking plaster. It needs to be used to target the root causes of climate change, inequality, and poverty. A Labour government will effectively focus the resources of DFID to eradicate poverty and reduce inequality around the world.
